Mr. Roosevelt Wilson, Sr. of Panama City, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 30h at Gulf Coast Hospital in Panama City, Florida. He was 73 years old. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After completing his tour of duty and receiving an Honorable Discharge, he returned home to Panama City.

He worked at Tyndall Airforce Base and for Bay County before retiring. In his leisure, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to music and spending time with his family and friends.

He leaves to cherish a lifetime of memories with; four sons, Roosevelt Wilson, Jr. of Panama City, Florida, Vincent Wilson of Panama City, Florida, Eric Wilson of Atlanta, Georgia and Deric Wilson of Panama City, Florida; eight grandchildren, Shinquise, Shakierra, Roosevelt DeSean, Jesceria, Eric Jr., Covin, Bless and Vian; one great grandchild, Amirah Doby; four sisters, Alberta (James) Black, Roberta (Richard) Stephens, Extra Plummer and Donnie Mathis; two brothers, John (Icy) Plummer and Ralph (Lois) Plummer; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held Saturday, December 12th at 12 noon at The New Beginning Assembly of the Saints Church, located at 662 Cone Avenue, Panama City with Pastor Lonnie Mitchell, Sr., Elder Larry McCullough, Pastor Walter Jordan and Pastor Marquez Alexander officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.

  1. Unc, you were an amazing man that will never be forgotten. You called us every holiday without skipping a beat. I knew every year when my phone rang mother’s day morning, it was you without even looking. And we will miss our yearly package of pecans you would send us. The only man in life that could call me Red! You will truly truly be missed but you will NEVER be forgotten ❤
