Mr. Jefferson Blount, of Jacob City, FL affectionately known as Jeff, made his transition in Dothan, Alabama, on August 1, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and inspiration.

Born on April 21, 1958, in Orlando, Florida, he embarked on a journey of life that was nothing short of remarkable.

The son of the late Jackson and Annie Ruth Gainer Blount, Jeff was blessed with a loving and supportive family. He shared a special bond with his brother, Pastor Leonard Blount, and his sister, Gwendolyn Blount Wright. His son, Rachaun Blount, was the apple of his eye, and their relationship was a testament to Jeff’s commitment to family.

A high school graduate, Jeff continued his educational journey with college studies. He exemplified the value of hard work and determination, carrying these attributes into his professional life as a carpenter. Known for his precision and creativity, Jeff’s work was a reflection of his keen attention to detail and his passion for his craft. His handiwork not only built structures but also built relationships, as he was a beloved figure in his community.

Jeff had a magnetic personality that drew people towards him. His interests were simple yet profound – family and friends. He believed in the power of relationships and the strength of a close-knit community. His home was always open, his table always welcoming. He was a friend, a mentor, a confidant to many, leaving a lasting impact on every life he touched.
To describe Jeff as gentle, handy, and creative would be an understatement. He was a man of exemplary character, whose gentleness was his strength, whose handiness was his gift, and whose creativity was his legacy.

Public visitation will be Friday, August 11, 2023 from 3-6 PM in the M. Sue & Rodney D. Pittman Memorial Chapel, 5441 Cooper Street, Graceville, Florida.

A celebration of life will begin at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, Jacob City, Florida. Interment will follow the church cemetery under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, Florida.
