Jessie Lee Shiver, age 90 of Graceville entered her Heavenly Home on August 29, 2023. She was born August 17, 1933, to the late Walter and Mae Beckworth Culbreth, in Graceville, Florida. She lovingly raised her family while working at the Vanity Fair sewing factory and served many students in the lunchrooms at Graceville Elementary and High Schools and Poplar Springs for over thirty years. During her lifetime she was a member of Damascus Baptist Church and later New Home Baptist Church. She faithfully prayed for and cared for her church family and neighbors by calling and checking on those around her. It brought her joy to cook for those in the community and especially her family, who was among her greatest loves. She did not shy away from hard work, whether in the kitchen or the garden, growing and canning vegetables as long as her health allowed.

Mrs. Shiver is predeceased by her parents; infant daughter, Belinda Sue Fowler; brothers, Ira, Arie, and Buford; half-sisters, Cora, and Myrtle; son-in-law, Gerald Johnson.

She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Doyle Shiver; daughter, Gale Johnson; son, Billy (Becky) Fowler; daughter, Joyce (Billy) Taylor; stepchildren, Edwin Shiver, and Debra Garnett; grandchildren, Dana, Terri, Tracey, Kim, Brandon, Justin, Corey, Brian, Sam, and Zach; 10 great-grandchildren; Special friend and caretaker, Jean Fowler.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at New Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Brian Taylor officiating, James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing.

The time of visitation will be Tuesday at New Home 10 a.m. until time of the service.

In lieu of flowers family request memorials be made to New Home Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
