James E. Sheffield, 86, of the Esto Community, Bonifay, Florida entered his Heavenly home on Friday, January 19, 2024.
Mr. Jim was born Esto, Florida on October 29, 1937, to the late Jesse Verlon Sheffield and Thelma Blount Sheffield. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Mr. Jim enjoyed gardening, fishing, and gathering with family and friends. He retired as lead extractor/machinist with the citrus industry, and he was a long-time member of Mt. Zion Independent Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by his sisters Kate Hughes, Bobbi Jenkins, Mary Stoller, brother Delbert Sheffield, and son-in-law Mark Crabtree.
Survived by his devoted wife Mary Sheffield, four children Jamie Sheffield (Naomi), Lisa Crabtree (Mark), Jesse Sheffield, Jeffrey Sanders (Diane), eight grandchildren Amber Beeler (Dean), J.D. Sheffield, Jason Sheffield, Mallory Sheffield, Krista Shimmel (Robert), Justin Sanders (Ashley), Bradley Crabtree, Jadyn Jones, ten great grandchildren, sister Frances Adams (Ralph), and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Home-going service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Mt. Zion Independent Baptist Church 3205 Hwy. Esto, Florida. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing.
Family will receive friends at the church, Tuesday, 10 a.m. until time of the service.
