Deacon Cliff E. Goines age 89 of, Malone, FL passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Marianna Health and Rehabilitation Center in Marianna, FL.  Funeral services will be held 11a.m. Saturday June 8th at the Second West Missionary Baptist Association Church located 4110 Herring Avenue Marianna, FL with Pastor Dr. Samuel Everett Sr. and Minister Katina Oliver Officiating. Interment will follow in the Snowhill Cemetery located 5695 Snow Hill Road Malone, FL with McKinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton, FL directing.

A public viewing will be held from 5 to 7p.m. Friday June 7th at the Shira Sr. & Chelcie Memorial Chapel  located 5304 Bowden Hill Road Campbellton, FL.                                                                                                                            

Brother Deacon Cliff Edward Goines of Malone Florida was born in Waynesboro, Virginia on April 6, 1935, to the late Maggie Lewis Hartsfield and Charles Wesley Ives. He was affectionately known as “Pawpaw, Baby, Pops, Papa Ed, Red Rooster, Ed Goines, and Deacon Goines.” On May 28, 2024, he transitioned to go be with the Lord. He was raised by his grandmother Mitt Goines and his great-grandmother Minnie Goines in Waynesboro, Virginia prior to moving to Jackson County Florida at age 27 in 1962 when he came to visit with his mother Maggie Hartsfield and stepfather Allen Hartsfield who accepted him as a son, so he remained in Jackson County. 

Cliff professed Christ as Lord and Savior and was a member at Snowhill A.M.E. Church for years prior to moving his membership to Sunrise Worship Center in 2004 where he served as a deacon. Over the years, he had several businesses and was a philanthropist. He donated monies to multiple church building projects, sports teams, scholarship funds, sponsored youth in the community in sport activities, and fed children both locally and internationally. He loved the Lord and singing God’s praises to the glory of God.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, grandmother, father. his parents: Maggie Hartsfield and Allen Hartsfield; siblings: Susan Johnson, Mary Lou Adderson, Alberta Mount, Bruce Hartsfield, Danny Ray Jones; a son: Donald “Duck” Goines; one brother-in-law: Neporah Bowers.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his devoted wife Mary Goines (Malone, Florida); his children: first-born John D. Henderson of Marianna, FL, Clyde Eddie Wallace of VA, Cliff (Charmaine) Goines of Vero Beach, FL, Patricia (Ronnie) Washington of Hoover, AL; Edward Allen; Reginald Baker of Marianna, FL; Maurice (Amy) Grimsley of Wellington, CO; and Latia Bass of Tallahassee, FL; three daughters in-love: Rosaland (Anthony) Harrison of Midland City, AL; Katina Oliver of Orlando, FL; and Amanda McDaniel of Dothan, AL; a pet Pitbull son named Junior; an adopted son in-love Pedro (Gloria) Martinez of Graceville, Florida, three beloved God-sons: Christopher Dixon, Taquelon Brelove, Fredrick Trawick Jr. three God-daughters: Remonica Anderson of Palmetto, FL; Latasha Melton of Ashford, AL, and Tina Knight of Malone, FL. Three siblings: Delois Bowers of Bascom, FL, Fredrick Trawick of Ashford, AL, and Susie (Ralph) Oliver of Malone, FL; a faithful friend: Mitch Couch. three good friends: Ricky Mount, Wayman “Man” Smith, and Charles Russ; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, special nieces, special nephews, and several other special friends; his church family at Sunrise Worship Center; and his dedicated caregivers: India, Denise, Tamara, Steven, and others.
