David Randall Sims, 67, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at his residence following a courageous battle with chronic illness.

A Celebration of His Life will be 3 p.m., (CDT), Friday, May 3, 2024, at the Chapel of James & Lipford Funeral Home with Chaplain Dr. Brian Salter officiating. Burial will follow in Marvin Chapel Cemetery with Military Honors by U.S. Air Force Hurlburt Field, James & Lipford Funeral Home of Graceville directing.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, 2 p.m. until time of service.

David was born September 9, 1956, to the late Jim and Margaret “Margie” Sims. A graduate of Graceville High School, Class of 1974, David entered the United States Air Force where he served twelve years and was Honorably discharged in 1986. He worked various jobs after his discharge, eventually attended trade school in Chipley, Florida graduating with a license in heating and cooling, and began working with Woodall in Dothan, Alabama. He took the postal exam passed and then began working for the United States Postal Service retiring on December 1, 2013, after more than twenty years. David was a beloved son, husband, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. He lived a good life, and he had a heart of gold. He was loved by many, especially his family, he will be in our hearts forever.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife Pamela Sims, parents, sister LuAnne Melendez, brother Jim Sims, Jr.

Survived by sister Dianna Garcia and husband Daniel, two brothers Steve Sims and wife Donna, Charles Sims, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
