Clara Alvina Basford, age 88, peacefully passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family in Dellwood, Florida, on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.
Alvina was a faithful follower of Christ and a member of Dellwood Baptist Church since 1965, where she served as treasurer for 18 years and taught youth Sunday School.
Alvina was born October 23,1935, to Wilson and Evelyn Hatcher in the Dellwood Community.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Lynnwood Hatcher.
She is survived by her sons, Larry Ryals Basford of Lynn Haven, Gregory Alan Basford of Tallahassee, and Nathan Ryals Basford Jr. of the Dellwood community; three grandchildren, Travis Basford (Nicole) and Kaci Hawes (Thomas) of Panama City, and Whitney Basford of Chicago; three cherished great grandchildren, Isabella, Wyatt and Sawyer; brother, Woodrow Hatcher (Linda); sister, Wilma Ann Black; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Alvina’s family is grateful for the kindness and compassion received from her caretakers and Emerald Coast Hospice.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Dellwood Baptist Church with Reverends Gino Mayo and Gary Gable officiating. Interment will follow in the Cypress Grove Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Dellwood Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to Emerald Coast Hospice, 3015 Jefferson St Ste C & E, Marianna, FL 32446, or any charity of your choice.
