WA Obert, 83 of Cottondale, went home to be with the Lord on October 6, 2023 at Jackson Hospital in Marianna, Florida.
WA was born on October 2, 1940 in Washington County, Florida to Houston and Lettie Dilmore Obert. He graduated from Barber school in Tallahassee, Florida before going into business for himself for nearly 61 years. He was a faithful member of Sapp Church in Cottondale, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Houston and Lettie Obert; brother:Malvin H. “Bud” Obert; sister: Marilyn A. Branch.
He is survived by his children: twins Melvin and Kelvin Obert, Timmy Obert, William Obert; siblings: Wilma Aleta Hamilton (Earl), James Roland Obert (Martha), Charles C. Obert (Hazel), Mary Ann Powell (Buddy); numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
Funeral service will be held 4 PM Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Sapp Church in Cottondale, Florida with Rev. Shane Obert and Bro. Gerald Vickery officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.
The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
