Terry Ledon Sykes, a lifelong resident of Marianna, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 10 , 2023 at his residence.
Terry was born April 7, 1962 and attended Marianna High School. After high school, he turned his passion into a successful career, becoming a well-respected mechanic and owner/operator of his trucking company. Terry was a dedicated professional who took immense pride in his work. His mechanical skills were only outmatched by his unwavering commitment to help others, making him a beloved figure to those who knew him.
Terry was a devoted animal lover and had a great sense of humor that brightened up the room and brought smiles to everyone around him. Always happy, Terry’s spirit was infectious. His hardworking nature was an inspiration to many, and his kindness touched the hearts of all those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.
Terry was a faith-filled member of the Antioch Baptist Church. His faith was an integral part of his life, guiding him in his everyday actions and interactions. He lived his life exemplifying the virtues of his faith, spreading kindness, and love wherever he went.
Terry is survived by his loving mother, Dorothy Mae Hyatt; his brother, Tony Harrell; and his sister, Marcia Hyatt White. He also leaves behind his cherished niece, Abigail Peacock (Robert) of Marianna, and nephew, Zachary White, along with a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss him dearly.
In memory of Terry, a celebration of his life will be 10 A.M. Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Antioch Baptist Church (6334 Birchwood Rd, Marianna, FL, 32448) with Reverend John Miles officiating. Marianna Chapel Funeral Home will be directing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Antioch Baptist Church or Partners for Pets (4011 Maintenance Dr, Marianna, FL 32448).
