On September 04,1958, an angel was born into the world from the marriage of the late Mr. Roosevelt and Mrs. Alice Patterson. She was one of 14 children born from this union in Blountstown, Florida.

Rosie accepted our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at a very young age where she joined and was later baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church in Blountstown, Florida. Later, in her quest for more spiritual growth she became a faithful and active member of the “Prayer Chainers Mission of God” in Hugh-Creek, Blountstown, Florida. Under the leadership of Apostle G.B. Sheard

Rosie L. Engram graduated from Blountstown High School in 1976. She later received a “Certified Nursing Assistant” certificate while employed at River Valley Rehabilitation Center in Blountstown, Florida. She later became employed at Calhoun Correctional Institution under the direction of “Aramark Food Services.

Rosie was united in marriage to Mr..Willie Ward Engram, a distinguished “Vietnam Veteran for 25years. They produced 1 “beautiful” baby girl, “Meghan McKenzie Engram”, who predeceased them both at age 12 while they also parented 8 other devoted children together. Rosie continued her duties of being a faithful servant of God.

On Saturday, December 23, 2023, the Heavenly Father called her to her eternal home. Her husband- Willie Ward Engram, (2) daughters, Melissa Comer and Meghan Engram, Father-Theodore Roosevelt Patterson, Mother- Alice Patterson, (3) Brothers-Raymond Joseph Patterson, Theodore Roosevelt Patterson (Geese) and Timothy Davis, all preceded her in death.

Rosie lived a beautiful fulfilled 65 years. Her life was filled with laughter, high spirits, and much love for God our father, her family, and friends. Rosie was a very generous and compassionate person who also had no difficulty in expressing her opinions and/or beliefs. She was an exceptionally clean individual who firmly believed cleanliness was next to Godliness. Rosie forever held firm to her belief in God and always kept the faith.

To cherish Rosie’s memories, she leaves (4) Sons- Billy Comer Jr., Blountstown, Florida; Cardrico W. Mosley (Tamiko F. Mosley) Blountstown, Florida; Travis S. Mosley (Ilisha T. Crawford), Greenwood, Florida; Michael Bell (Crystal), of Marianna, Florida; (4) daughters-Contessa M. Bell, Secora S. Bell, Faith H. Bell (Jarvus Bess) Taylor C. Boyd, all of Blountstown, Florida; (5) brothers-James Sheffield ( Deborah Sheffield) of Surprise, Arizona; Johnny H. Patterson (Shirley A. Patterson),of St. Mary’s Georgia; Hutchinson H. Patterson, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; Mikal Patterson( Teresa E. Patterson) of Rome, Georgia; Alvin P. Patterson, of Blountstown, Florida; (6) sisters- Dorothy L. Brown,(Walter Brown); Grandridge, Fla.; Helen M. Jones ( Edward Jones Jr.) of Blountstown, Florida; Blanchie A. Patterson, of Blountstown, Florida; Coretha Jones (Stephan Jones, Sr.) of Blountstown, Florida; Linda L. Hughes-Patterson; of Blountstown, Florida; Verna Patterson-Roberts( Barry Roberts) of Blountstown, Florida;(1)Aunt, Mrs. Emma L Miller,of Miami, Florida; (1)Uncle, Mr. Raymond Patterson,(Pamela Patterson) of Panama City, Florida (1) Goddaughter; Christian L. Hogue of Blountstown, Florida, (21)Grandchildren; (5)Great-Grandchildren; (6)extended Grandchildren-Treven Smith, Taveion Crumitie, Tyreeq Pride, Andrew Williams, Desquan Johnson, Antwan Johnson, and a multitude of “wonderful” nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. 

The family will receive friends at St. Mary MB Church in Blountstown on Friday from 4-7p.m.  A homegoing celebration will be held Saturday December 30th at 12 noon at the First Baptist Church in Blountstown with Pastor G.B. Sheard officiating.  Interment will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery with entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
