Raymond Baxter, 78, of Malone, passed away at his home surrounded by family after a brief illness on November 17, 2023.
He was born April 11, 1945 to Cola Lee and Lorene Green Baxter. He served in the US Army as Private E-1, military police from 1965 to 1967 in Vietnam. He retired from the Jackson County Health Department as an environmental specialist.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edward Baxter and Ryals Baxter.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marie Baxter; sons, Jeffery Baxter, Drew Baxter, Asa Baxter and Phil Baxter; special daughter & son-in-love, Sarah and Greg Ford; 12 grandchildren; brother, Ross Baxter and many nieces, nephews and friends he loved dearly. You all know who you are.
Funeral services will be 11 AM, Monday, November 20, 2023 at Friendship Baptist Church with Revs. Greg Ford and Nash Wills officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of service. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Emerald Coast Hospice or Friendship Baptist Church.
