Ms. Hettie Lee Tinsley Jackson of Marianna entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 2nd at home susrrounded by a caring, loving and devoted family. She was 89 years of age.
Hettie was born May 20, 1934 in Malone, Florida to the late Robert and Ruby Tinsley. She attended the public schools of Jackson County. In the spring of 1997, Hettie was united in marriage to the late Elijah Jackson by the late Reverend L.L. Brooks. They shared many wonderful and blessed years together.
Hettie worked as a caregiver for 68 years. She enjoyed fishing, cooking and gardening. She loved her family and friends. She was a very kind, loving and friendly person to anyone she met along life’s way. She will be truly missed by many.
Hettie leaves treasured memories with three daughters, Karen Morgan, Eliza Jackson and Ruby Artis all of Marianna, Florida; four sons, Robert Tinsley, Jessie Jackson, Allen Jackson all of Marianna, Florida and Clause Tinsley of Tallahassee, Florida; a devoted grandson/caregiver, Montrez Freeman of Dothan, Alabama; and a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, October 14th at 11am at St. James AME Church with Pastor Ronald D. Mizer and Bishop Russell Gordon officiating. Interment will follow in the Orange Hill Cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
