Ms. Dorothy Staley of Marianna, Florida entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 10th at Emerald Shores Nursing Facility in Panama City with her family at her side. She was 85 years of age.
She was of the Baptist faith and a member of New Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.
She leaves treasured memories with three daughters, Patricia Anderson and husband Ray of Atlanta, Georgia, Sandra Thomas and husband James of Greenwood, Florida and Allyson Staley of Marianna, Florida; sons, William Jackson and wife Cindy of Arcadia, Florida, Kirkland Baker and wife Tonya of Little Rock, Arkansas, James Baker of Marianna, Florida, Lonnie Dempsey and wife Earlie of Panama City, Florida, Leonard Baker and wife Stacy of Marianna, Florida and Ralph Staley and wife Deonka of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Mary Leland of Tallahassee, Florida; sister-in-law, Norma Staley Merritt of Marianna, Florida; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, November 16th from 4-6p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel.
A Homegoing Celebration will be held Friday, November 17th at 11a.m. at New Galilee Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Andrew Stephens, Reverend Mark Dudley, Dr. Emmanuel Dempsey, and Dr. Sam Everett. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
