Mrs. Gwendolyn Pittman Mitchell Robinson, age 87, of Marianna, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at her residence with her family at her bedside.

She is preceded in death by parents: William Pittman and Lucille Pittman Dickens; step-parents: Annie Mae Pittman and Eugene Dickens; maternal grandparents: William and Josephine Wynn; paternal grandparents: William and Mattie Pittman; sisters: Alice Neal Pittman, Elouise Cotman and Verdell Pittman; brothers: Morris Pittman and Jerome Pittman; sisters-in-law: Mattye Sue Pittman and Hattie Pittman; brother-in-law: Gordon Cotman; nephews: Rodney Pittman, Richard Allen Pittman II and  Marcellus Sonny Wynn; a aunt: Ruth Wynn Glenn.

She is survived by her husband: Amos Robinson of Marianna, FL; children: Patricia Taylor (George) Elmira, NY, William A. Mitchell, Jr., Marianna, FL, Valaria M. Slater (Jim), Marianna, FL, Ronald D. Mitchell (Elizabeth), Marianna, FL and Markevia Hunter (Ketha), Marianna, FL;  a sister: Patricia Crumb (Elbert), Saint Petersburg, FL; brothers: Joseph Pittman, Saint Petersburg, FL, Richard Allen Pittman, Sr., Miami Gardens, FL and Donald J. Pittman, Graceville, FL; a niece: Kristen Pittman, Miami, FL; her sister-in-law: the Reverend Katuria Pittman, Saint Petersburg, FL; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; a host of other cousins, family and many, many friends.

She was a native of Jackson County; retired from Sunland Center of Marianna; Funeral Service Ambassador with Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, FL and a member of Saint Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Marianna.

Public visitation will be Friday, June 14th 2024, 2-4 PM at Saint Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 2871 Orange Street, Marianna, Florida.

A celebration of life will commence at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 15th 2024 from the sanctuary of Saint Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 2871 Orange Street, Marianna, Florida.

Mrs. Robinson will be laid to rest in the Orange Hill Cemetery, Marianna, FL under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, FL.

  1. Amos, Billy, Ronald and entire family. I am so sorry for your loss. Gwen and I were school mates and she was always so bubbly and full of life. She never met a stranger. Although we did not see each other in these latter years when I did see her she was always very friendly. I will miss her and I know you all will miss her more. But keep the faith knowing that you all will meet again, some sweet day,
