Mr. Leon Earl Ramsey, age 77, passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021. He lived in Sneads, Florida for the past 30 years. A devoted father and grandpa, Leon loved antique automobiles, fishing, and Florida State Athletics. He attended Florida State University and graduated from the University of West Florida. Leon retired from Gulf Power Company in 2001 after more than 30 years of service and was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Doris Ramsey.
Mr. Ramsey is survived by his children, Matt Ramsey and Michelle Ramsey Dennard and her husband Jason of Tallahassee, Florida; a grandson, Evan Dennard; his sisters, Frances Worthington (Bill) of Bristol, Florida and Annette Hurst (Charlie) of Tallahassee, Florida; his extended family, Gloria Resmondo and Alvin Resmondo of Pensacola, Florida. He loved all his nieces and nephews.
Mr. Ramsey’s family will receive visitors from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Eastern Time (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Central Time) on Thursday, June 10, 2021 in the McAlpin Funeral Home Chapel.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Big Bend Hospice’s doctors, nurses, and other staff.
