Mr. Joe Obert, age 86 of Graceville, FL a man of remarkable spirit and boundless optimism, passed away peacefully of natural causes in Graceville, Florida, on July 19, 2023, leaving the world a little less bright. Known for his infectious friendliness and effervescent personality, Joe, born on October 31, 1936, lived life with a vigor and enthusiasm that inspired everyone around him.

Joe was an interesting character, a true free bird who lived life on his terms. He was an avid traveler, his adventurous spirit taking him to every nook and cranny of the world. Each journey he undertook was a new chapter in his colorful life, filled with diverse experiences and cultures that he cherished deeply. Beaches held a special place in his heart, especially the Panama City Beach. He wanted to spend countless hours basking in the sun, the sand, and the sea, living in the moment and appreciating the beauty of nature.

A man of simple pleasures, Joe loved the joy of eating his favorite snacks and savoring the fizz of a cold Pepsi on a hot day. His optimism was unflinching, his spirit indomitable. He believed in the power of positivity and the strength of the human spirit. His zest for life was infectious, and it was impossible to be around Joe without catching a bit of his enthusiasm for life.

Public visitation will be Friday, July 21, 2023, from 9:00 AM – 10:45 AM in the M. Sue & Rodney D. Pittman Memorial Chapel, 5441 Cooper Street, Graceville, Florida.

Graveside services will begin at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 21, 2023, at the Graceville Community Cemetery, Hope Avenue, Graceville, FL with the Reverend Reuben Merritt officiating under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, Florida.
