Mother Catherine Granberry Edmon of Marianna entered into eternal rest on Tuesday October 24th in Southeast Alabama Health. She was 95 years old.

She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. She served actively on the Mother’s Board, in the Senior Choir and Senior Mission. She retired from the Florida State Hospital where she worked as a UTR Specialist.

She leaves a legacy of love with one daughter, Ruby Akins and husband Willy of Puyallup, Washington; one son, Samuel Edmon and wife Brenda of Miami, Florida; one brother, Aaron A. Granberry, IV and wife Alice of Marianna, Florida; daughter-in-law, Helen Edmon of Greenwood, Florida; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, November 4th at 11:00 AM at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Dwight Cockerham, Sr., Reverend Anthony Granberry and Reverend Freddie Roulhac officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.

The body will lie in state at the church from 10:00 AM until funeral time at 11:00 AM. Public viewing will be held on Friday November 3, 2023 at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel from 3:00 to 6:00 PM
