Mildred R. Guilford, born on September 26, 1932, in Pierson, FL, peacefully passed away on December 1, 2023, in Panama City, FL at the age of 91. She dedicated 34 years of her life to shaping young minds as a teacher in the Calhoun County School District. Starting her career in 1954 and retiring 1988. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Guilford, her mother, Lannie Hatchell Register, and her father, J.C. Register. Mildred is survived by her loving family: daughter, Chris Tomlinson (John), sons, Frank “Bud” Guilford, Jr. (Wendy), and Brad Guilford (Sharon), as well as her brother Cash Register. Her legacy lives on through her six grandchildren: Robyn (Reggie), Marc (Janet), Jessica (Drew), Jacob (Stacey), Monica (Patrick), Dillon; 11 great-grandchildren: Melissa (Nick), Madison (Tony), Brady (Mel), Jason, Lannie, Abbie, Braydon, Addalynn, Ellie, Emmitt, Cooper, and great-great grandchild Syndee. The funeral and visitation service will be held in her honor on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown, FL. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the service at 2:00 p.m. The graveside service will follow at Nettle Ridge Cemetery in Blountstown, with Dr. Dean Register and Reverend Andrew Stallworth officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause close to Mildred’s heart.
