Ladsie Louise Denning, age 96, of Montgomery, AL and formerly of Marianna, FL, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2021 in Montgomery, AL.

Ladsie was born in Sneads, FL and was a lifelong resident of Jackson County, FL, until she moved to Montgomery, AL with her son. She was the daughter of George and Audrey Green Maphis. Ladsie was a homemaker for most of her life and took pride in caring for the family and being attentive to their needs. She was also quite the seamstress and made many of the dresses for the local cheer teams and National Peanut Festival Queens. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and hunting with her late husband, Bertis Denning.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; as well as her brothers, Thomas Godfrey, Carl, Johnny B. and Willy Lee Maphis; and son in law, Carl Jones, Jr.

Ladsie was survived by her son, Cecil H. Brogden and wife, Maria of Montgomery, AL, and Audrey Dianne Jones of Slidell, LA; grandchildren, James and Doug Brogden, Tom Jones and wife, Molly, and Tony Blue; nine great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2022 at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with Pastor Bill Stephens officiating and Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.
