Annie Laura Rentz, age 98, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 7, 2024. Born on February 11, 1926 in Sneads, Florida, Ann, as she was fondly known, was the daughter of the late Charlie Tyus and Tennie Tyus. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 75 years, Wilbur Rentz; her daughter, Shirley Ann Neel; and her brother and sister-in-law, Hinton and Edith Tyus, as well as an infant brother Earnest Tyus. Ann is survived by her children, Bill Rentz (Pam); Beth Nobles (Brady); Faye Kimrey (Ken) and her devoted son-in-law, Dale Neel. Ann leaves a legacy of ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
Ann traveled the world with her husband and family as a military wife, and in their retirement years she enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, and baking for her family. Ann was a faithful member of her beloved First Baptist Church of Sneads, Florida for over fifty years.
Funeral services for Annie Laura Rentz will be held at 11:00 a.m. cst on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Sneads, Florida, with Reverend Charles Kleisure officiating and McAlpin Funeral Home directing. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Dykes Cemetery in Sneads, Florida. Flowers are welcomed and appreciated, or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Sneads, Florida in Ann’s memory.
