Juanita Benefield, 82, of Alford died Friday, December 15, 2023 at The Courtyard.
She was born October 28, 1941, to Henry and Jeanie Benefield in Round Lake, Florida where she lived most of her life. She accepted Christ at a young age and attended Alford Assembly of God Church. In recent years, when her health started failing, she moved to The Courtyard in Marianna, where she lived for the past nine years.
Juanita was a homemaker and helped raise most of her nieces and nephews. She loved to be around her family, cross stitching, crossword puzzles and shopping. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and decorating the tree was her favorite part. She was always a kid at heart especially during her birthday and Christmas time. Everyone who knew Juanita loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Benefield and Jeanie Harris Benefield; brothers, George Benefield and Eddie Benefield; sisters, Enda Crooms, Besty Kornegay, Joann Vickery, Voncile Barnes, Mable Sims and Katherine Boutwell.
Juanita is survived by one sister, Roise Benefield of Chipley, FL; one brother, Daryl Benefield (Tomila) of Marianna, FL; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 PM, Thursday, December 21, 2023, at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Pastor Juno Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in Kent Cemetery in Alford, FL with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the time of service.
