James Olan “Jim” Hamilton, 86, of Grand Ridge died Thursday, February 10, 2022 at his home.
Jim was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County where he never met a stranger. Farming and cattle was his life as far as his work. He was past manager of Northwest Livestock Co. in Marianna for many years. Jim enjoyed auctioneering. He enjoyed fishing, and his work.
Preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Rossie Carpenter Hamilton; sisters, Loretta Poole and Edna Banks; brother, Ottis Hamilton; step son, John T. Laramore.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes Laramore Hamilton; one son, Kenneth Hamilton, (Stephanie Ross) all of Marianna; daughters, Patricia J. Couey (Virgil), of Marianna; Brenda Hamilton of Grand Ridge; granddaughter, Kaci Laramore; grandson, Ethan Lowery.
Graveside funeral services will be at 1 PM, Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Carpenter Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Monday, February 14, 2022 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
