Hurley Glen Peacock passed from this life to his heavenly home on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Hurley was born April 22, 1945, in Jackson County Florida to James Adam Peacock and Susie B. Stephens Peacock. He was 78.

Hurley was a lifelong Florida resident having lived in several locations but had spent the last thirty plus years or so in Jackson County. At the time of his death, he was a resident of Chipola Health and Rehabilitation Center in Marianna, Florida (aka the Center). He loved living at the Center where he had established so many lasting friendships with other residents and staff. He dearly loved playing bingo and participating in activities sponsored by the Center. If you visited him and he knew you were coming, he would be waiting for you at the door and be primed to tell you a story or two..or three…or four. Yes, he could tell you some stories. Needless to say, he will be missed at the Center.

Hurley was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, James Edward Peacock, Waymon A. Peacock and Mathew G. Peacock, infant sister Hettie Ruth Peacock, nephew Kenneth Peacock, niece Nancy Peacock Mackle, sister-in-law Estelle Oliver Peacock.

Hurley is survived by his nephew Mike R. Peacock (Teri) of Lansing, Kansas, cousins Jean Peacock Broome (Elwin), and Ronald Peacock (Becky) of Marianna, Florida, and special extended family members Charles and Polly Oliver of Springhill, TN, and several other cousins, great nephews, and great nieces.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 1:00 PM (CST) at McAlpin Funeral Home Chapel, 8261 US-90, Sneads, FL 32460, with family visitation one hour before the service. Burial will follow at Dykes Cemetery in Sneads, Florida, with McAlpin Funeral Home directing.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations in Hurley’s memory be made to the Activities Department of Chipola Health and Rehabilitation Center at 4294 3rd Ave, Marianna, FL 32446.
