Glendora Faye Jones, affectionately known as Faye, passed away peacefully in Marianna, Florida on Sunday, November 12, 2023.

Faye was born in Washington County to the late, Lamp Sanders Kent and Corabelle Bachman Kent on November 19, 1931. She began her career as a nursing assistant at the Florida State Hospital and later served at the Donalsonville Hospital and Jackson Hospital in the OB Ward.

As a child, she spent much time at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Alford. Later, she became a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Malone, where she was an active and devoted member for over 65 years. Her faith was not just a part of her life, but a guiding principle that she lived by every day.

Faye was a dedicated homemaker who loved her family deeply. She took great joy in caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and her home was always filled with love and laughter. Her family was her greatest pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jones; her son, Jimmy Jones; her sister, Ethel Mancil, and five infant siblings.

Faye is survived by her loving family, including her sons, Dale Jones and his wife, Tammy of Panama City, Tommy Jones and his wife, Cathy of Tallahassee, Billy Jones and his wife, Karen of Cottondale; daughter, Glenda Jones Winkle and her husband, Wayne of Malone. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Amanda Freeman and husband, Bryan, Jeremy Jones and wife, Andrea, Kevin Jones, Lindsey Doscher and husband, Takashi, Melinda Baxter and husband, Michael, Crystal Mathis and husband, Randal, Kayla Smith and husband, Chase, Kaitlyn Jones and husband, Andrew, Kalee Taylor, Andrea Jones, Ciara Folsom and husband, Ryan, Jesse Jones and wife, Kate, and Keith Jones; 22 great-grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Angela Jones.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. CST Friday, November 17, 2023 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.

Graveside funeral services will follow at 12 P.M. CST in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Malone, FL with Reverend Nash Wills officiating, Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, Attention: Chipola Family Ministries. This fund is set up to help feed those in our local communities.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Walter Doty, Dr. Richard Christopher, the staff at Marianna Health & Rehabilitation Center and Emerald Coast Hospice.
