Gail Lord, 80, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 12, 2023.
Gail was born on October 25, 1943, to Ernest and Lola Brock in Rocky Creek, Florida and graduated from Marianna High School in 1961.
Gail will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Born into a small farming community outside of Marianna, Florida, Gail’s upbringing instilled in her the hard work and grit she displayed throughout her life. Gail met her husband Leven in 1958 and they were married in 1963. The couple adopted son Spike in 1966 and daughter Stephanie in 1969. Six years after completing their family, the couple, as Gail put it, “stepped out on faith, and borrowed money” and started Lord & Son Construction in 1975.
Gail had a selfless approach to life and was the emotional rock of her family. Gail had a special way of making everyone she interacted with feel loved. It was truly her special gift from God.
Gail was predeceased in death by her mother Lola, father Ernest, brother Gary, and nephew Kyle. She is survived by her husband Leven, their children Spike and spouse Jen Lord and Stephanie and spouse Mike Lobner, her grandchildren Drew and spouse Lindsay Lord, Haley Lord, Sabrina Lobner, Mason Lobner and great-grandchildren Demi, Rhett and Joshua, surviving sisters, Gloria Melvin, Jo Ann Swearingen and brother, Stanley Brock.
Services will be held at Emerald Coast Funeral Home on December 16th at 1PM, with visitation at 12PM. Burial will be private. Expressions of love and sympathy may be placed and viewed at www.emeraldcoastfuneralhome.com
