Bobby G. Branch, Sr., a lifelong resident of Grand Ridge, FL, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2023, in Marianna, FL. Born on March 6, 1942, to James Wilmer Branch and Ellen Weeks Branch, Bobby was a loving and friendly man who never met a stranger.
Bobby was predeceased by his parents, his beloved wife of 52 years, Faye Darlene Branch, his brother, Jimmy Branch, and his sister, Ellene Branch Johnson. He is survived by his three sons, Bobby G. Branch Jr., Ernie E. Branch, and Louie Branch (Sandra), his three grandchildren, Dawson, Victoria, and Heather, and six great-grandchildren. Bobby also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and his faithful canine companion, Karma.
Bobby began his career at Florida State Hospital in 1971 and dedicated 33 years of service before retiring in 2004. He married the love of his life, Faye Darlene Branch, in 1963 and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. He attended Shady Grove Methodist Church with his family.
Bobby’s interests were simple and centered around the things he loved most: his family, his friends, and the great outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and farming, and he could often be found riding his dog, Karma, on the golf cart. Bobby loved to eat and socialize with family and friends, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.
In remembering Bobby, we celebrate a life well-lived. His legacy of love, friendliness, and community will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Bobby G. Branch, Sr. was a man of great character, and he will be deeply missed.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Mr. Bobby will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 10:00 AM Central Time in the McAlpin Funeral Home chapel. There will be a time of visitation immediately following the memorial service.
