Barbara Jean Geneivive Hamilton passed away in Jackson Hospital on July 2, 2023, after a lengthy illness. Barbara was born July 25, 1947 in Troy, New York to Anthony F. Geneivive and Joan E. Geneivive. Her family moved to Ft. Lauderdale Florida in 1953 where Barbara graduated from Stranahan High School and obtained her nursing degree from BCC. She began her nursing career at The Florida State Mental Hospital in Hollywood, Fl. Barbara later relocated to the panhandle of Florida where she worked and retired from Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee, Fl. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter, Lisa Marie Tipton, son-in-law, Phillip Shane Gardner and her husband, Henry Thomas (Tom) Hamilton. Barbara is survived by her son, Richard A. (Rick) Tipton and wife Lynn, stepdaughter, Sharon (Dee Dee) Martin and husband, Carlan, stepson, Thomas L. (Tommy) and wife, Mary Bruce Hamilton. Her grandchildren whom she adored, Brittany Lynn Gardner McCroan (Justin), Brandon Shane Gardner, Lauren Alexandria Martin, and Dustin Dryden: her brother David Geneivive (Nancy), and two sisters, Elizabeth Stiffler (Lewis), and Linda Kabine (Phil), five special nephews, Michael Geneivive, Tony Stiffler, Daniel Stiffler, David Stiffler, and Tommy Skipp. The family would like to extend their gratitude for the wonderful care and concern that Jackson Hospital CCU extended during the hospitalization. The memorial service will be 11 AM Saturday, July 15, 2023 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Keith McMillan officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
