Alfred Henry Pumphrey, age 91, of Marianna, FL went home to be with the Lord on October 30, 2023. Alfred was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, talking about the good old days, and truly loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents Luther and Flossie Hand Pumphrey; brother, Linwood Pumphrey of Panama City, FL; sisters, Cecelia Moats of Altha, FL, Edra Peacock of Marianna, FL, Elvia Pittman of Marianna, FL, Eunice Fallin of Albany, GA; sons, Randel Pumphrey, Steve Pumphrey, and Jim Pumphrey of Altha, FL. Survivors include wife of 71 years, Flora Melvin Pumphrey of Marianna, FL; son, Luther Pumphrey and wife Mary of Marianna, FL; daughters, Gloria Mercer and husband Derek of Grand Ridge, FL, Gwendolyn Barwick and husband Coy of Clarksville, FL; daughters-in-law, Frances Pumphrey, Pauline Pumphrey, Debbi Pumphrey of Altha, FL; 12 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren. Family will receive friends and relatives Friday November 3, 2023, from 12:00 PM (CT) until 1:00 PM (CT) at the Rocky Creek Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM (CT) with Reverends Luther Pumphrey and Addis Habbard officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown, FL.
