Alfred Eugene Toole


Alfred Eugene Toole, 84 of Graceville, Florida, entered his Heavenly home on Monday, March 4, 2024.

A native and life-long resident of Graceville, Mr. Eugene was a 1957 graduate of Graceville High School, and he served in the U. S. Army National Guard. He retired following 30 years from the Florida Department of Transportation as road designer and served six years with Melvin Engineering. Starting at an early age Mr. Eugene farmed, raising the best vegetables and fruit in the tri-county area. It was not unusual to see him riding his International tractor around the farm while planning what would be planted next in each field. Not only was he gifted at farming, but also in designing and making bird houses. He owned and operated Nubbin Valley Lawn and Garden along with his hardworking and devoted wife, Doris. He attended Cottondale First Assembly of God Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents Pruitt Albert Toole and Eunice Smith Toole, brother Jack Toole and sister Rebecca “Becky” Wright.

He is survived by his beloved wife Doris Powell Toole, three sons Fredrick Eugene “Ricky” Toole (Barbara), Jody Dewayne Toole (Linda), Joe Eric Toole, seven grandchildren Joshua Toole (Kelsey), Alan Toole (Precia), Kayla Williams (Christopher), Ashley Goodwin (Dominic), Alaina Phillips (Jason), Sarah Erwin (Jared), Suzanne Cullen (Tim), thirteen grandchildren, three brothers Ralph Toole (Freda), Pruitt Albert “Pat” Toole (Nancy), Bennie Toole (Barbara), Peggy Stillwell (Bob), a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Home-going Service will be 11 a.m., (CST), Friday, March 8, 2024, at the Chapel of James & Lipford Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Franklin officiating. A private family burial will follow at Nubbin Valley Memorial Garden, James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday, 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
