Sarah Hall Williams 90, of Marianna went home to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, January 27, 2021 in Jackson Hospital. Sarah was born January 21, 1931, in Marianna. She was the third of five sisters to Elmer and Octavia Hall. Sarah had a special lifelong bond with her four sisters. She graduated from Marianna High School then completed the cosmetology program at the Florida State College for Women.

Sarah worked as a beautician for a few years then devoted her time to be a homemaker. After her son started high school, she worked at the Marianna Convalescent Center then later retired from Adult Education as a guidance office aid.

Sarah, affectionately known as “MeeMaw”, enjoyed following family to sporting events, special programs, and family outings. She was known for her hospitality, great cooking, and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Herbert H. Williams; daughter Rebecca Ann, and son, Bill Williams; her parents, Elmer & Octavia Hall; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elma Rea & J.J. McCrary, Edna & Hubert Williams, and Mary & Tom Melvin.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Merle Jordan & husband, Tim; grandchildren, Glen Williams and wife, Alison, Sharon Williams, Vickie Kent and husband, Holland; great-grandchildren, Natalee Walker and husband Nick, Grant WiIliams, Anna Kent, and Zane Kent; sister and brother-in-law Robby and James Williams; many nieces and nephews; special longtime friend, Emma Gilbert; and her Damascus Free Will Baptist Church family & friends.

The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2021 at Damascus Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m., Rev. Charles Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

A special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Mark Akerson and his staff at Panhandle Family Care Associates as well as Jackson Hospital. We would also like to thank the loving and kind staff at Chipola Health and Rehabilitation Center for the exceptional care of our MeeMaw.
