The TIMES received the following press release via SPD on May 10th:

On Saturday May 8th a Police Officer with the Sneads Police Department was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 90 when he clocked a black GMC utility vehicle traveling over the posted speed limit. When the Officer tried to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle for unlawful speed. The vehicle accelerated to dangerous speeds in an attempt to evade the Officer. This led to a pursuit through the city limits and into the county which ultimately ended with the Black GMC crashing on Sand Basin road North of McKeown Mill Road. The Sneads Police Officer then tried to make contact with the male driver and female passenger, but the driver exited the vehicle The Sneads Officer ordered him to stop but instead he fled on foot away from the vehicle.
Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and Appalachee Correctional Canine Units responded to assist Sneads authorities with tracking and apprehending the suspect. The Suspect was identified as Tyson Nobriga 27, of Chattahoochee. Nobriga was taken into custody and was in possession of stolen firearm at the time of his capture.
Nobriga is facing Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding from Law Enforcement, Grand Theft of a Firearm, Reckless Driving and Resisting Arrest without violence, as well receiving additional Traffic violation charges from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Chief Miller would like to thank the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Highway Patrol, and the Florida Department of Corrections Appalachee Correctional Institution K-9 Units for their assistance in this investigation.
