Roger Dewayne Wilkinson entered heaven on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Shands Hospital in Gainsville, Florida, with his loving wife by his side. He was born in Jackson County Florida to Susie M. and Donald Wilkinson on March 2, 1959. He graduated from Cottondale High School in 1977 and attended Chipola College in Marianna, Florida. Roger worked at the distribution center, Rusell, for many years until moving over to Chipola Textile working in management. In 2004 he met his wife and moved to Sneads, Florida, and began his career at the Department of Corrections, retiring in 2014.
After retiring, Roger loved to spend time with his family, cooking, and his greatest love Fishing.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Susie, and stepmother, Geraldine Wilkinson, a sister, Cynthia Denise Brock, and baby daughter, Jennifer.
Roger grew up in a loving family. Roger leaves behind his cherished wife of 19 years, Jackie C. Wilkinson, his father, Donald Wilkinson, sons, Joseph and Kyle (Amber), daughter, Jessica, and bonus daughter, Jessica Goodson Nix, a brother, David Wilkinson (Megan), two nieces, Amber and Brianna, eight grandchildren: Tucker, Tyson, Trenton, Kylie, Brayden, Ava, Kimber and Kael, along with two fur babies, Ruby and Kirby. He is also survived by a very special niece and nephews, April (Justin), Kaleb, Jacob Peyton, and Jack. Roger also leaves behind numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral services are at 11 AM, Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Dellwood Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Gable officiating. Interment will follow at Alford City Cemetery, with a special remembrance by Doc Shaw. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at Dellwood Baptist Church.
