David Lee Banks, age 63, passed away to join his Lord on October 13, 2023, peacefully at Marianna Health & Rehab Center after he strongly and bravely battled cancer.

David was born on August 17, 1960 in Hialeah, Florida. David lived most of his life in Greenwood, Florida, except for the times that his work as an Ironworker, would take him out of the state.

David’s favorite holiday was Thanksgiving because his favorite meal was the traditional Thanksgiving Dinner. He also enjoyed country music, especially Willie Nelson. He loved reading his Bible every morning.

David was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Vinson & Dorothy Banks; maternal grandparents, William & Josephine Kimes; his father, Mack K. Banks; several aunts, uncles, a cousin, and the love of his life, Allison.

David is survived by his mother, Kathryn E. Banks; siblings, Wanda Tidwell, Kristy Kaiser, Mark Banks (Melissa); nephews, Christopher T. Tidwell, C. Paul Kaiser, III; great-niece, Shelbi Tidwell; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He will be forever loved and missed by his family and friends, and will long be remembered for his courage and will to live until he realized it was time to surrender to his Lord.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Greenwood Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends from 9 AM until the time of service at Greenwood Baptist Church.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, David’s favorite charity.
