Corbin Road accident update

The Florida Highway Patrol issued the following report in reference to the accident involving the trailer hayride accident on Corbin Road. 

The report stated on October 31 at 6:30 p.m., they were notified of the accident. Vehicle one was a sport utility driving by a 46-year old male from Chipley, Florida. Seatbelt was in place. Vehicle two was a tractor/trailer driven by a 24-year old male from Fountain, Florida. Seatbelt use was listed as unknown.

Vehicle two was traveling east on Corbin Road pulling a 24-foot trailer with approximately 30 passengers on a hayride. Vehicle one was traveling east on Corbin Road behind vehicle two. Vehicle one did not slow and the front of vehicle one collided with the rear of the trailer attached to vehicle two. Several of the passengers were ejected from the trailer. The driver of vehicle one was transported by helicopter to Southeast Medical Center in Dothan. One juvenile was transported by ambulance to Gulf Coast Medical Center in Panama City. Several passengers from the hayride were transported to local hospitals by family members.

At this time, the accident remains under investigation with no charges filed on the report submitted at 9:28 p.m. October 31.  Alcohol was not listed as a contributing factor.
