Ms. Willie May Ellis, 89, of Marianna, FL died Thursday, June 4, 2020 at her residence.
May was born June 10, 1930 in Panama City, FL to the late William Nichols Strickland, Jr. and Lura Lilla Whittington Strickland. She retired from the Marianna Convalescent Center as a registered nurse with over 40 years of service. She enjoyed the beach and working in her yard.
May was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Ellis; two sisters, Betty Anderson and Jean Strickland; three brothers, Buddy, Jimmy, and Nicky Strickland.
She is survived by daughter, Sheila Ellis of Marianna, FL; granddaughter, Courtney Spence and husband, Billy of Crawfordville, FL; great grandchildren, Mikayla Spence and Owen Spence; sisters, Martha Locke and husband, Billy of Panama City, FL, Faye Heath and Laura Hoskins; as well as brother-in-laws, Willard Anderson and Earl Ellis.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Reverend Sam Everett officiating.
Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
