William “Mike” Corbett, age 70, of Greenwood, FL, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at his residence.
Mike was born on January 26, 1952 to the late Theodore and Pearl Corbett. Mike was a lifelong resident of Jackson County and enjoyed fishing, taking his dogs for car rides, and above all, helping people in need. He met Mary Hamilton in 1970 and soon after starting dating. Mary and Mike married in 1971 and had one son, Clinton. Mike worked at the Florida State Hospital for 32 years and retired in 2003 as the head of security.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mary Corbett; and sister, Carol Corbett.
He is survived by his son, Clinton “Clint” Corbett of Greenwood, FL; brother, Sam Corbett and wife, Mary of Chattahoochee, FL; sisters, Charlette McMullian and husband, Roy of Chattahoochee, FL, Annette Corbett and husband, Doug of Tallahassee, FL; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
No services are planned at this time. Memorialization will be by cremation with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
