William E. (Bill) Wimberly, 91, of Marianna died Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Jackson Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Marianna, Bill was born November 5, 1931 to the late Bernie Belmont Wimberly and Adna Mae Cook Wimberly. Bill served in the U S Navy, married the love of his life Fay Spivey Wimberly July 11, 1953.
Bill was a general contractor and was former owner-operator of M & W Construction Company of Marianna for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Marianna.
Survivors include his wife of almost 70 years, Fay S. Wimberly; sons, Rex S. Wimberly (Diane), Rick Wimberly (Lynn); oldest granddaughter, Kelly D. Beach (Jeremy), oldest grandson, Jake Wimberly, youngest grandson, Jesse Wimberly (Kristie Bard, Partner), youngest granddaughter, Jade Ferrante (Anthony), great-grandson, Josiah Beach, great granddaughters, Macee Beach and Marlee Beach, youngest great granddaughter, Giada Ferrante.
Pallbearers are Bill Peacock, Dell Hughes, Jesse Wimberly, Jack Wimberly, Jeremy Beach, and David Shores.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at The Family Life Center at First Baptist Church of Marianna with Pastor Vince Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 21, 2022 beginning at 9 AM, one hour prior to the service in The Family Life Center at First Baptist Church.
