Weeden Dennis Miller, Jr., age 50, of Cottondale, FL, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Dennis spent the majority of his years growing up in Jacksonville, Florida where he was adopted into the pool plastering community at the tender age of 16. He was gifted with a craft that served him well for 35 years. Evidence of his talent remains over the entire state of Florida as well as parts of Alabama, Oregon, Maryland, Kansas, Pennsylvania and Hawaii. Dennis had an immense love for the outdoors, was an avid surfer and spent much of his time in the sand and surf of Jax Beach.

He overcame great adversity in his life and eventually left the city and relocated to Marianna. He came to be with his parents in hopes of reclaiming his life. He felt so blessed to have a place of respite and recovery. Dennis attended Cosmetology School at Chipola College and became a licensed cosmetologist. It was during this time he met his wife and launched his journey of building a homestead where they planned to share their remaining days. He continued to prosper in his craft and was able to see his dreams manifest into a beautiful reality. One of his greatest surprise blessings in life was becoming a grandparent. Although short-lived, he made every minute count and was the ultimate P-pap.

Dennis had a passion for helping others. His generous spirit remains unprecedented. He fostered many in recovery, sharing his life experiences as a testament to the Lord and His healing power. He has shared his last penny, his last bite of bread, literally the shirt off his back and shelter for those who remained suffering and lost. He wanted everyone to know the Lord’s redemptive plan He had for them.

His love for the outdoors and hunting lead him to become a dedicated conservationist. He saw value in every living creature, honored them and created a sanctuary for as many as he could manage. His love for animals was evident in his dog rescue efforts. His pups were his babies.

Dennis lived big, loved deeply and, above all, loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Vic Williams.

Survivors include his loving wife, Gina Miller; two sons, Dylan Bass and wife, Courtney, Ethan Bass and wife, Emily all of Marianna; daughter, Kimball Bass (Caleb) of Dothan, Al; parents, Elaine and Chuck Bender; sister, Lisa Kieffer and husband, Nick of Dothan, AL; grandchildren, Margot and Daisy Bass; grandmother, Mildred Crowe; brother-in-law, Darryl Williams and wife, Michelle of Marianna; sister-in-law, Joyce Williams of Marianna and Donna Baxter and husband, Larry of Marianna; along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
