Mr. Warren Clyde “Jack” Mayo, 87, a lifelong resident of Chattahoochee, Florida passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 15, 2019 in Tallahassee, Florida.  Jack was a person of faith and lived life serving others. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chattahoochee. He had a passion for cooking and enjoyed serving in the church kitchen. He was a tireless and selfless volunteer for the Meals on Wheels mission in his community.  Jack always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips.  His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life.  The legacy of Jack’s kind spirit, passion for sports, love of his faith, and zest for life will live on through them. He was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with family and friends, fishing on the river, telling jokes and just having fun. He will be missed deeply by his family and many friends, but never forgotten.

Jack is survived by his two daughters, Liz Phillips of Tallahassee, FL and Kim Rogers (Tony) of Tallahassee, FL; two grandchildren, Lauren Wofford (David) and Brad Rogers (Megan); four great grandchildren, Emma Grace, Demi Noel, Hunter Campbell, and Jackson David; two sisters, Irma McClain of Texas and Betty Williams of California; two sisters in law, Mary T. Melvin and Carol Mayo; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, William Warren and Beulah Mayo; his loving wife of many years, Gladys Anne Mayo; three brothers, Melburn Mayo, Harold Mayo, and Harry Mayo; two sisters, Margie Armstrong and Emma Clevenger.

Graveside services will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Chattahoochee, FL on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 10:00AM EST with Rev. Barry Cottle officiating and McAlpin Funeral Home directing. Visitation with family and friends will follow at First Baptist Church of Chattahoochee at 11:00AM EST. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Chattahoochee Kitchen or Mission Funds.
