Ms. Waddie Bell Baker age 66 of Marianna, FL (Holyneck Community) entered the gates of heaven on Friday March 13th at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday March 21st at the Shi’ra Sr. and Chelcie Memorial Chapel located at 5304 Bowden Hill Road Campbellton, FL with Reverend Rudolph Dickens officiating. Interment will follow in Holyneck Cemetery located at 3395 Cemetery Lane in Marianna, FL with McKinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton, FL directing.
Waddie was born on August 30, 1953 to the late Obie Sr and Anner Baker in Marianna, FL.
She professed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Holyneck Missionary Baptist Church.
She attended St. Paul Elementary and High School then transferred to Marianna High School for her senior year where she graduated.
After graduation she enlisted in the U.S. Army for 3 years and received an honorable discharge.
Then she relocated to Jersey City, NJ and worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. In the early 80’s she moved back home to Marianna, where she raised her children, worked, and enjoyed her life to the fullest.
Waddie was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Her banana pudding will be missed by all who had a taste.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four siblings: Pearletha Baker, Lucy Guthrie, Obie Baker, Jr and Tommy Baker.
She leaves to cherish loving memories, two children: Jason Baker and Toni Baker; four siblings: Victoria Gibson, Emma Richardson, Addie (Robert) Spencer and Robert Baker; two grandsons: Tristan Baker and Javen Dugazon; a faithful and loving cousin: Clevion Nell Cotton, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
