Vera Mae Ferguson Brooks, 80, of Quincy, Florida passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Mary Alice Gunn and Charlie Ferguson. She was born on May 1, 1939 and she departed her life on Sunday, August 4, 2019. Sister Vera attended the public schools of Gadsden County Florida. She dedicated her life to Jehovah and symbolized it by water baptism on July 15, 1989 where she served as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and where she gave a witness to all that she knew sharing her love for Jehovah with her family, friends and neighbors. She was the wife of the late Jimmy Brooks and the mother of two daughters, the late Sister Joyce Lecount and Sister Mary Wright. Sister Vera was also preceded in death by four sisters, Ruthie Mae Cobbs, Lucille Berry, Irene Thomas, and Inell Walker and one brother, Jimmy Lee Shaw. Sister Vera is survived by one daughter: Sister Mary Wright (Brother Harold Wright); ten grandchildren: Willie F. Green (Tiffany) of Quincy, Florida, Sister Lashawndra Pais (Uziel) of Quincy, Florida, Sister Mashannon Edwards (Johnny) of Tallahassee, Florida, Demetrius Green (Alesha) of Sneads, Florida, Harold Wright, Jr. (Vetra) of Tallahassee, Florida, Tajuania Neal (Philander) of Quincy, Florida, Kristina Wright of Tallahassee, Florida, Letina Green of Tallahassee, Florida, Jennifer Pearson (Derrick ) of Quincy, Florida, and Jeremy Wright (Natalie) of Tallahassee, Florida; 26 great grandchildren; one sister: Millie Moore of Greensboro, Florida; one sister-in-law: Nancy Shaw of Tallahassee, Florida; and a host of nieces and nephews, families and friends. Crawford & Moultry Funeral Home of Chattahoochee were in charge of arrangements.
