Vaudine Baxter King affectionately known as Mama-Dean formally of Jackson County, Florida and currently of Pensacola, passed away July 24, 2022 at Baptist Hospital. She was born in Jackson County Florida to Walter and Annie Baxter on December 29, 1929.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, James H. King; step-daughter Billie Jean Turnbull; and granddaughter Donna Jones Creel.

She is survived by her sons Ron Jones (Eddie Vann) and Don Jones; stepson Jimmy Donald King (Alice); her brother Leon Baxter (Betty); 12 grand- and step-grandchildren; 18 great-grand and step- great-grandchildren; 3 great;-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many friends.


She grew up and lived in Jackson County, Florida most of her first 65 years. She retired from Jackson County Schools and Sunland Training Center in Marianna, Florida. She moved to and lived in Pensacola for the last 27 years and was a faithful member of the Bellview Baptist Church.


Vaudine will be remembered for her hospitality, generosity, love for her family, and countless meals, cakes, and desserts. She enjoyed her tablet and Bible-reading every day. She enjoyed being meticulously dressed and having a very clean and orderly home. A special thanks to nurses Megan and Lindsey of Baptist Hospital ICU for their thoughtful care for Mama-Dean.
Services will be at the Bellview Baptist Church on August 2 at 11:30 am with visitation from 10:30 to 11:30 am. internment will follow at Barrancas Cemetery at 1:00 pm.


Faith Chapel Funeral Home (South) on Beverly Parkway is entrusted with the arrangements.
