Tammy Sue Scott Melnik, age 52, of Grand Ridge, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2024. Born on December 11, 1971, in Quincy, Florida, Tammy was a shining light in the lives of all who knew her. She was the beloved wife of Charles Melnik, with whom she shared three years of devoted marriage.

Tammy was predeceased by her father, Charles Edward Scott; her mother, Patricia Lea Walters; and her sister, Julia Melnik. Her loving spirit lives on through her son, Andrew Toole (Robert Brimer); her sisters, Kathy Zampieri and Pennie Gilley (Jimmy); her niece, Scarlett Gibson; her nephew, Wayne Beasley Jr; and her special friend and confidant, Janet Bouchard.

A proud graduate of Grand Ridge High School in 1991, Tammy was known for her hardworking and compassionate nature. She spent several years working on a hog farm in North Carolina, where she developed an enduring love for pigs, amassing a delightful collection of pig figurines. In 1994, she married and in 1995, she welcomed her only child, Andrew, bringing immense joy and purpose to her life.

Tammy’s interests reflected her joyful and caring personality. She found solace in reading; cherished moments spent at the beach basking in the sun, and took great pleasure in caring for others. Music, particularly Christian music, uplifted her spirit, and she was a faithful member of the Evangel Church.

As someone who loved taking care of people, Tammy embodied the words of Mother Teresa, “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” Her legacy is one of love, kindness, and the countless small things she did with great love for her family and friends.

Tammy Sue Scott Melnik’s warmth, generosity, and bright smile will be profoundly missed but never forgotten. Her memory will continue to be a guiding light to all who were blessed to know her.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Tammy will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, beginning at 10:00 AM Central Time in the chapel of McAlpin Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will begin immediately following the service.
