Syble Pittman Thompson, 83, of Marianna Florida died Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at her residents following a long battle with cancer.
Syble was born in Two Egg and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1954. Syble had a 35 year career working at First Federal Savings and Loan in Jacksonville Florida, Citizens State Bank, Marianna, Florida and the Jackson County Health department before retiring and enjoying 10 years of retirement with Tommy before his passing.
Syble had many hobbies. She loved crafting, baking, and spent many years as a wedding caterer. A job she loved and was inspired by catered her son’s wedding. She loved spending time with her family and friends, most of which were like family to her. Her favorite place was to spend time was on her deck, viewing her flowers and overlooking the Mill Pond.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Howard “Tommy” Thompson and her parents Coley and Mary Jane Pittman.
Syble is survived by her son, Jim and wife, Wendy Fulford of Meridian, ID; grandchildren, Daniel J Fulford of Ballston Lake, NY, Brian E. and wife Lynn Fulford of Eagan, MN, and C Michelle Fulford of Marianna, FL; two great-granddaughters, Vivian and Eleanor Fulford; stepdaughter, Elizabeth and husband Rob Jordan of San Angelo, TX, and their children, Mitt Jordan and Christy Jordon, sister, Negatha and husband, Julian Avery of Hendersonville, TN, and sister, Neil Thomas of Greenwood, FL.
Syble would like to thank Covenant Care for their very professional service in keeping Syble comfortable during her illness. Syble was previously a volunteer at covenant care.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Lovedale Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Canada officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Baptist Church with James & Sikes Funeral Homes Maddox Chapel.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 3 p.m. until service time at Love Dale Baptist Church.
Flowers will be accepted. However in lieu of flowers, donations made in Syble’s name to Love Dale Baptist Church’s General fund or Covent Care would be appreciated.
