Shirley Jenkins Cassady, 84 of Graceville, Florida entered her Heavenly home on Monday, March 14, 2022.
Mrs. Shirley was born in Geneva County, Alabama on September 12, 1937, to the late Clayton Jenkins and Vannie Mae Sewell Jenkins. A 1955 graduate of Slocomb High School, she then attended the University of Alabama. Mrs. Shirley retired following 33 years as an executive secretary with West Florida Electric Cooperative.
A beloved mother and grandmother, Mrs. Shirley enjoyed gardening, cooking and taking care of her family even until her last days. She was Graceville’s biggest baseball fan supporting not only her two sons thru their high school and college games but also her grandchildren and their friends! She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Graceville.
A Home-going service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Graceville with Dr. Naethan Hendrix officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing.
Family will receive friends at First Baptist Church on Wednesday, 1 p.m. until time of service.
Preceded in death by her husband James Roy Cassady and one brother Charles Jenkins.
She is survived by two son Tim Cassady (Dreama), Jamie Cassady (Laren Carlton), Jonesboro, GA, two grandsons Devin Cassady (Kaylee), Jaret Cassady, two great grandsons Kayden, Levi; one brother Bruce Jenkins (Linda), Birmingham, AL, a host of nieces and nephews.
