Roy Douglas Jackson, age 79, of the Alliance Community, FL passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023, at his home. Roy was born February 3, 1943 in Alford, FL to Fay and Florence Jackson. Roy lived in Jackson County the majority of his life and was a member of Mt Olive Baptist Church. He was in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, worked with the Department of Corrections for over 20 years, and took great enjoyment from farming and being outside . Roy loved riding his gator with his dog,Pete, working in the fields, and talking to people in the community about Christ. Roy was baptized in the fishpond on his property and had a strong faith and desire to do good. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Ann Jackson of the Alliance Community, son, Roy D. (Ross) Jackson II and Brenda of Altha, FL, daughter, Bonnie Jackson Seay and Charlie of Marianna, FL, brothers, Coy Jackson and Gladys of Chattahoochee, FL, Pasco Jackson and Janet of Sneads, FL, Johnny Jackson and Marci of Sneads, FL, sister, Louise Dunham and Glenn of Sneads, FL, grandchildren, Turner and Emily. Family will receive friends Tuesday, January 24, 2023, starting at 10:00 AM CST at Mt Olive Baptist Church in Altha, FL. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM CST with Reverend Bob Davis officiating. Interment will be at Mt Olive Cemetery. All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown, FL.
