Rhul Jefferson Edenfield, 74, of Grand Ridge, Florida passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022, at University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham, AL.

He was born to J.D. and Lucille Jeter Edenfield on June 29, 1948, in Altha, Florida. Rhul proudly served in the U. S. Navy for four years, then the National Guard, of which he served until retirement. He received his Associates Degree as a nurse and worked at Florida State Hospital. Rhul also served the Town of Grand Ridge as a Volunteer Firefighter, Councilman and Mayor. He was also a Chaplain at Marianna Health and Rehab.

Rhul was a founding member of United Believers’ Worship Center and served as the Outreach Minister. He was a wonderful man who loved his wife, daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren more than anything.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Lucille J. Edenfield; sisters, Lola Mae Stewart, Dorothy Jean Funk, LaVern Edenfield, Blanche Ray, Ida May Fleming; and brother L.C. Edenfield.

Rhul is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betty H. Edenfield; daughters, Michelle E. O’Pry (Jeff), Crystal E. McDaniel (Charles) all of Grand Ridge; brother, Calvin Edenfield (Brenda) of Bartow, FL; sister, Erma Lee Powers of South Florida; seven grandchildren, Payton Singletary (Tyler) of Marianna, Madison Clark (Luke) of Graceville, Ryan O’Pry of Grand Ridge, JoeMac Scott (Colin) of Germany, Ryder McDaniel (Kazia), Levi McDaniel, C.J. McDaniel all of Grand Ridge; sister-in-law, Shirley Hall of Grand Ridge; special niece, Angel Hall; special nephews, Keith McDaniel of Virginia and Sam Corbett of Jacksonville; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 21, 2022, at United Believers Worship Center, Grand Ridge, FL with Rev. Kelvin Johnson Officiating and James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Interment will follow at Dykes Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
