Reverend Auburn E. Hall, 96, of Marianna, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, November 21, 2021 at his daughter’s home.
He was born January 12, 1925, the fifth of the eight children of Grover Cleveland and Rachel Hinson Hall. Ordained into the ministry in 1954, he pastored seven Assemblies of God churches: Fadette, Burns, Marianna First, Welcome, Chipley, Brent, and Harvest Chapel. He was Secretary Treasurer of the West Florida District of the Assemblies of God for sixteen years. He preached his last sermon at Welcome Assembly of God at the age of 94. He loved to fish, cook, sing, spend time with his family, and tell stories (his testimony) of his amazing life and service to God.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 56 years, Bernell Griffin Hall; his parents; brothers, Grover Chalmus, Jimmy Loellion, William Ralph, and Billy Rae; sisters, Gussie Mae Hall, Bonnie Lucille Sasser, and Robbie Jean Helms; grandson, Jeffrey Auburn Howard; daughter-in-law, Laura Hall.
He is survived by two sons, Eugene (Cherry) of Chipley and Phillip (Jane) Hall of Marianna; two daughters, Gayle (Guy) Tatum of Marianna and Pamela (Bill) Sellers of Marianna; ten grandchildren, Tanya (Kent) Hall, Ananda (Michael) Pyfrom, Kimberly (Gene) Nobles, Jonathan (Amanda) Hall, Mandy (James) Hughes, Rachel Byrd, Michelle Stone, Lee (Latrell) Williams, Rebecca Williams, and Amanda (Bobby) Johnson; nineteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Evangel Church, 4792 Highway 90, Marianna, Florida 32446. He will be laid to rest at Marvin Chapel Cemetery in Graceville, Florida with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
