Ralph (Billy) Banks, age 71, of Grand Ridge, FL, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019 in Marianna, FL. Billy was born on September 4, 1947 in Jackson County to Ralph Banks Sr. and Edna Earl (Hamilton) Banks. He farmed for most of his life and he was employed by Anderson Columbia for his last 12 working years as a heavy equipment operator until he became ill in September of 2017. Billy was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and especially spending time with his girls. Billy was a man of faith and lived life serving others. He will be missed but not forgotten.
Survivors include his mother Edna Earl Banks (92); his devoted wife of 47 years, Ima Jean (Edenfield) Banks; one daughter Tammy Banks Green and fiancé Jeff Tissue; one son Scotty Banks; three granddaughters, Amber Pruett, Christin Baxter, and Mikayla Suber; three great grandchildren Aubree, Rylann and Mavrik; four sisters, Wanda Dudley of Grand Ridge, FL, Barbara Craycraft of Marianna FL, Debbie Chambliss and husband Andy of Marianna, FL and Neil Bland of Marianna, FL.
He was preceded in death by his father Ralph Banks Sr. and brother Bruce Earl Banks.
The family will receive friends Sunday, June 2, 2019 from 5:00pm (CDT) until 7:00 pm (CDT) at McAlpin Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be held Monday, June 3, 2019 at 10:00 am (CDT) at Praise Life Center in Grand Ridge, FL with Rev. Sonny Coburn and Rev. Gary Cook officiating. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Grand Ridge, FL.
