Pirates roll over Franklin County 43-0 to move to 5-0

Five WINS on the season, 189 points on the board with only 54 points from their opponents equals a hall of fame start to the 2019 Pirate football season. This past weekend, the last 43 points to the total went on the board with a goose egg on the opposing side.
On the air attack, Ric Reed was one-for-one with Colton Mercer going four-for-four for 61 yards and one touchdown.
Calvin Stringer proved to be the workhorse in the backfield, rushing for 154 yards on only six carries with two touchdowns. Seth Scott made the most of his 18 yards on four carries and crossing into the endzone twice. Ric Reed took it on the ground for 50 yards on five carries and a touchdown. On board with 28 yards on five carries was Spencer Holden, followed Colton Mercer with four carries for 23 yards.
Seth Scott had three receptions for 35 yards and one touchdown.
Defensively, Seth Scott led the team with nine solo tackles, followed by Matthew Thompson with five solo tackles. Alonzo Hill recorded four solo tackles. Taylor Brown and Seth Scott both recorded five assists on tackles.
Alonzo Hill and Matthew Thompson had one sack each with Hill’s going for an eight-yard loss and Thompson’s for a six-yard loss. Kyle Benton had a fumble recovery.
Anthony Moran continued to shine on the kicking game, going five-for-five with extra-point attempts.
Sneads will be looking to make it six in a row Friday night when they travel to Panama City to take on the Bozeman Bucks. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
